R. Kelly’s manager has been accused of threatening the parents of Joycelyn Savage after they claimed the singer was keeping their daughter hostage as part of a sex cult.
Timothy Savage spoke out against the singer during new Lifetime documentary series Surviving R. Kelly.
According to a police report obtained by The Blast , Timothy called police to his Georgia home on January 3, the day the six part series went to air, claiming he had received threats from a man named Don Russell, the manager of R. Kelly.
The report, as seen by the US site, claims that Russell text Timothy ahead of the Surviving premiere to say ‘it would be best for him and his family if the documentary did not air.’
It is also alleged that Timothy told police Russell warned he would ‘ruin him, his reputation, businesses, and family because [the documentary] would show him a liar.” R Kelly has been accused of holding women hostage as part of a ‘sex cult’
The case is being looked into further by the Criminal Investigation Department.
The Savage’s believe their daughter is one of the women caught up in R. Kelly’s alleged sex cult, which Joycelyn has denied.
In July 2017 the Savage’s held a news conference asking authorities to remove their daughter from the singer’s home, claiming that she was being controlled by him as part of a sex clut.
Joycelyn denied those claims in a video to TMZ, saying: “I’m fine and happy. I haven’t been brainwashed.” Read More R Kelly and Aaliyah’s relationship: Grooming, an illegal marriage and her death Jocelyn Savage insists she’s not being held against her will (Image: Facebook)
R Kelly ‘s controversial conduct with women has been put under the spotlight in damning new documentary Surviving R Kelly.
The six-part docu-series, which premiered on US channel Lifetime last week, features interviews with the 52-year-old singer’s former colleagues, girlfriends, ex-wife and alleged victims.

Kelly’s lawyer threatened to file a federal lawsuit against Lifetime if it aired the show, but the channel proceeded.
