How to Remove Negative Information from the Internet ?
Job Opportunities Mehul Choksi’s factory seized by law enforcement Mehul Choksi, an Indian billionaire businessman, wanted for alleged fraud in India, was granted Antiguan and Barbudan citizenship in November 2017.
Another property discovered to be owned by or associated with Antigua and Barbuda’s Citizenship by Investment national, Mehul Choksi, has been seized.
This development comes as India’s Enforcement Directorate has provisionally attached the Thailand-based factory to the two billion U.S. dollar Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud case.
The Enforcement Directorate is probing this case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, as it revealed that it took action Friday morning.
The move was made after evidence showed that the said factory premise is under the ownership of M.S. Abbeycrest (Thailand) Limited, a subsidiary of the Gitanjali Group.
The Gitanjali Group is owned by Choksi, who is currently referred to as a fugitive, and India’s authorities want him extradited from Antigua and Barbuda.
N.D.T.V. in India is reporting that officials there said the Enforcement Directorate’s investigators will soon make requests for legal formalisation of the attachment of the foreign-based asset.
Diamond jeweller Choksi, his nephew, Nirav Modi, and others, are being probed under various criminal laws after the fraud came to light, following a complaint from the Punjab National Bank.
The bank complained that they allegedly cheated the institution out of billions of dollars, with the purported involvement of some of its employees.
Choksi was last reported to be residing in Antigua and Barbuda and, according to his lawyer, Dr. David Dorsett, he is too ill to travel and is receiving medical treatment for a heart condition. Post navigation
